The ad says that the A/C comes unfitted in a box. The pump you see is the smog pump as stated. The pictures all show a genuine new 1300 to me, particular the pictures of the floor, the (ill-fitting!) carpet and the 'grubby' bits seem to agree with the mileage of 148 miles and good storage conditions. The front suspension bits look much better than most NOS you can fetch from auto-jumbles. They should not be perfect after 40 years - the paintwork on the subframes and suspension arms was never really more than a decoration for the first few miles, so that's how it should look after nearly 40 years of being around. After reading the text and looking at the pictures I can't see anything looking inconsistent or even dodgy to me.

That's not a/c....it's the foolish smog pump that the u.s. market required in the 70's. Also, looks like a lot more road wear on that car than the few thousand miles on the clock....look at the pic of the axles/steering knuckles....

| Not immaculately tidy. There seems to of been some strange leak in the boot at sometime. Possibly from the fuel filler pipe? Interesting how much space the air con unit takes up. I have instructions for fitting one, would be quite a nice project to get hold of one to fit one day. (Not that the weather here warrants it more than twice a year!) |

| That's a starting bid around £5250 I think. Interesting history. R |

I THINK there was an item in the 1100 Club Mag about the rescue and restoration of this vehicle. If it is the same car then part of the restoration team is the same chap, Peter, I bought my MG 1100 from (now with Deano 1300) based in Cardiff. It certainly looks the same garage layout.
Rod
If it was in the idle chatter I'll find it... Thanks,
Alexander
PS: I hope to have the time to call tonight.
